Hey Lake Travis! ❄️

Snow in Texas - always a headline, never a routine. This week’s winter weather gave kids an unexpected break from school, turning backyards into makeshift snow parks and living rooms into cozy hideouts. While the roads froze and plans changed, we all got a chance to slow down and enjoy a little extra time together.

But don’t worry, the weekend thaw is coming. We’ve rounded up some great events to help you shake off the snow and get back out there. Stay safe, stay warm, and get ready to be entertained as the temps climb again!

If you’ve lived in this area for more than ten minutes, chances are you’ve probably been to Santa Catarina. It’s not your typical Tex-Mex joint - their take on Mexican cuisine is both elevated and comforting, like someone finally got it right.

Happy hour is the real MVP here which runs everyday from 4-6pm and includes stellar food and drink specials. The nachos are a must-try, perfect for sharing, and might ruin all other nachos for you. We pair them with their Mexican Martini that’s strong enough to erase a bad week, but not your dignity.

The staff makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit, and the atmosphere is casual yet polished. If you arrive at five on a Friday, you’re probably waiting for a table. It’s our Friday evening go-to so we’ll see you there!
